Braided Ikat phone strap
We’re proud to introduce our new braided Ikat phone strap, a piece created in collaboration with 25 women-led enterprises across Bamyan, Kabul, Herat, and Badakhshan.
Despite immense challenges, these inspiring women started their businesses from scratch, overcoming obstacles and opening doors for others by sharing their knowledge and skills. Their workshops serve as a refuge, offering purpose and a secure space to connect and create with other women.
These women place immense value in their financial independence. Many of them do not seek aid–they seek orders. They take pride in being able to say, “I worked for this.”
By wearing this braided phone strap, you carry their story, and their future, forward, as all proceeds are reinvested into new orders to support and sustain their businesses.
This project is a collaboration between Artijaan and ACTED, supported by UN Women.
